13 June - 30 June

"I believe enthusiasm for small sites is vital in the progression of housing delivery in London, working together is key to progressing this sector."

‘Manifestos: Architecture for a New Generation’ is an annual collaboration between London Festival of Architecture and the Design Museum, highlighting work by an emerging generation of voices in architecture who are expanding the parameters of what architecture can be, who London is for and what its future holds.

Tom Atkinson is an Architectural Designer with experience running his own practice focused on residential architecture and housing research. He is currently working for Lewisham Council as a member of the Strategic Development Team, he is a member of the Third Public Practice Cohort and a Tutor at Central Saint Martins teaching BA Architecture media practice.

Tom was nominated by Rosa Rogina, architect, researcher and educator working as Head of Programme at London Festival of Architecture. She is also MArch leader at University of East London.

"I first met Tom while he was finishing his MArch studies at Central St Martins where he experimented with ways of using often overlooked micro plots in the city for the additional provision of social housing. Today, as a young member of the Strategic Development Team at Lewisham Council and the Third Public Practice Cohort, Tom and his micro-development work is definitely something worth following."
