LFA Update on Covid-19

NEWS |

One of the many strengths of the LFA is that the festival is delivered by a community of more than 300 passionate, unique organisations and individuals. This diverse community helped the festival engage more than 800,000 people last year.

It’s this range of organisers that leads to such an impressive and varied programme of events throughout the month of June.  Festival events include architectural installations, tours, talks, debates, workshops, unique building tours, film screenings, exhibitions, Studio Lates, parties and much, much more.   All of this helps find new ways to engage Londoners in the conversation about architecture and our city.  LFA event organisers have always found hugely creative ways for people to enjoy architecture in new ways.

Over the last few weeks we’ve seen hundreds more events submitted to our Curation Panel for consideration for this year’s festival in June. We have been overwhelmed at the impressive range of events being lined up for this year’s festival.

This diversity leads to a huge amount of resilience in our festival programme – ensuring our organisers can continue to deliver and if necessary, tailor a flexible programme.  The LFA is still well-over two months away, and the situation is rapidly evolving.   Unlike many other festivals, the LFA’s strength is that it is comprised of many hundreds of medium-sized events over the month, rather than single large one-off events.

We are closely following government advice about the ongoing situation with the Covid-19 virus and the safety of our audience, event organisers, staff and colleagues remain our foremost priority.

At this time we do not anticipate cancelling or postponing the LFA or any individual LFA events. We continue to work to empower event organisers to deliver an amazing programme of activities for this year’s festival in a safe way.

We anticipate that our full programme of events for this year’s festival will be published as usual on 1st May 2020 with events running from 1st to 30th June.

Our festival organisers will soon find updated guidance from within their account on the LFA website to help them continue to plan, update and if necessary modify their festival events.
