There is a lot of London in London. For better or for worse London has become more confident in recent years. As part of this process there is a growth of cultural confidence. There are more shows about London and more art that concerns itself about the place. Londoners are talking more about London, it’s architecture and the cultural landscape: Conversations about new museums, the need for more housing, new infrastructure and endless discussions of that Bridge.
The London Festival of Architecture has an important part to play in these conversations. I am looking forward to seeing the great Douglas Murphy have a chat with Jonathan Meades, new provocative architecture like Sam Jacob Studio’s “One thing After Another” (which, ehem, I worked on) and the eye opening degree shows and open studios.
