Countdown to LFA Digital

NEWS |

We hope you’re as excited as we are about this year’s new LFA Digital which will take place from 1st to 30th June.

The LFA was founded in 2004 and has grown over the years to become the world’s largest annual architecture festival. Each year we’ve found new ways to engage the profession and the public in the conversation about architecture and our city.  You can see the history of the festival here.

What makes the LFA unique is that our vast programme of events each year is delivered not only by us, but mainly by an amazing mix of organisations and individuals – helping to radically democratise the discussion about architecture and our city.  This incredible mix of organisers, from world-renowned museums to small community organisations; universities to artists means that our programme of events is equally eclectic.  Much like London: there’s something for everyone, and for every architectural taste and opinion.

We’re not here to tell you which buildings you should or shouldn’t like – but to offer new, fun and creative ways to engage with architecture and the city.

This year everything has changed, and nothing has changed.  For the first time we’ll be hosting a new online festival throughout June. Whilst we’ll be online, not everything will be on a screen.  From cake baking competitions to architectural therapy; drawing workshops to Lego challenges; panel discussions to podcasts; virtual building tours to outdoor audio guides, and much, much more.  We’re also looking forward to welcoming new international event organisers and audiences into the LFA this year.  We believe London has long been the world’s capital city for architecture. And we can’t wait to show you around.

We’ll be announcing the full programme for LFA Digital at 10am on Monday 25th May, when you’ll be able to browse the full LFA Digital programme and start picking your events.

Our more traditional events and installations will appear over a longer season later this year.  We’ll provide more information about these events toward the end of June.
