Wish You Were Here? The Power of the Postcard

'Wish You Were Here? The Power of the Postcard' is Velorose's first postcard-only gallery exhibition, bringing together the 300 submissions received from its three lockdown Mail Art projects, the largest of which was 'Windows on the World' for LFA Digital 2020, when participants submitted postcards entitled 'Inside Looking Out / Outside Looking In'.

Postcards have always had the power to connect people and places, a fact perhaps never more significant than at this point in time, around the world. People are places, and places are people; while a postcard only alludes to both, we relish receiving one, by contrast to most of what arrives by post nowadays.

Wish You Were Here? The Power of the Postcard also invites all visitors over the course of LFA Actual 2020 (October / November / December) - in person, and online - to share the actual and virtual space that the exhibition inhabits by submitting more postcard-sized creations inspired by three titles:

● The Power of Thanks (November)
● The Power of Love (December)
