What can we learn about cities through photography?

Jana Sophia Nolle and Ibai Rigby will share their experience of using photography as a tool to raise awareness and encourage the public to critically reflect on social and environmental issues affecting the built environment.

Artist and photographer Jana Sophia Nolle will share insights about her series 'Living Room', where she portrays the stark inequality in the city of San Francisco. Ibai Rigby, a trained architect, urban planner and photographer, will share his experience documenting formal and informal urban practices around the world.

Both photographers will then discuss and share their views on the role informal social responses have in facing different urban issues, from housing crises to a global pandemic.
